Happy November!

As we move in to the Holiday season the team is concentrating on some of the more pervasive issues that have cropped up in Fallen Earth. The first priority is resolving the unforeseen issues involving the datacenter. While this is not a simple task, we can say we have discovered the cause of the issues and are quickly moving to eliminate the problems.

While we investigate the other issues we have moved to a twice a week maintenance schedule to help reduce the impact on players.  While it’s not a solution to the lag, it is a step towards finding  a long term solution.
On the design side we are working on an Xmas event that will bring some new seasonal –themed recipes and clothing to the wasteland as well as some new non-holiday clothing rolled out between now and the end of the year.

And we are starting on The Outpost.  While I can’t go into too much detail yet, this will be content for high level players that focuses on exploring and reclaiming the wasteland with a strong emphasis on crafting.  We’ll also be revealing a bit more about the original occupants of the Canyon.

While we work on the Outpost we will also be putting out small quality of life tweaks to Group EXP and DT formulas and other bugs and balance issues so keep an eye on the forums for upcoming PTS test times and dates.

See you in the Wasteland

  2. Is The Outpost basically going to be the start of player created towns?

  4. I just hope after they release this they actually start working on problems the game has had for over a year now... If my employees pulled this stunt I would have them fired for not building a complete project. The MMO world is fast and competitive. You can't afford imperfection and flaws. Because you know what happens when you put a new set of tires on a car with engine problems? It's called lack of prioritizing. So I hope I watch this game progress into the strong foundation it once stood upon or else really Fallen Earth will be gone soon enough.

  5. To devs

Strongly agree with post above. Yes, taking valid priorities is essential. You should know who pays you most, you should collect all stats to know how players play this game. If you base your development direction on forum bias only, you risk to devote most of your effort to serve to sound minority which will never satisfied with any state of game. The issue i would watch closely is why so much of new players come and leave game before hitting level 20/30.

The Outpost looks exciting for pve and crafter-oriented playerbase, lets hope it won't be another copy-paste of Alpha, GORE bosses or Dome. Implementing another set of repetable quests for farming mats in some new spectacular grind won't make the game any better. The end game is alrredy filled with false objectives and stretched rules, you recently have created or "improved".
